What is your question?
The left rear tail light works fine, and it's the same bulb used by the brake light and turn signal. So it's not a fuse or the flasher (all other blinkers and lights work fine). Can't I just wire the two left-side turn signal lights (front and back) directly together? And wire the two rear brake lights directly together? Simple enough...right? Beats tracing the electrical problem for the moment...
How long has your 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 had this problem?
just bought it

Well unfortunately it’s not quite that simple! .. Since both brake AND signal lights use the same bulb ELEMENT inside the bulb - the brake light circuit MUST pass through the signal light switch BEFORE going to rear lights so they will operate independently from each other while brakes are applied AND signal light is on .. One rear light will be blinking and the other is lit continuously .. Otherwise you’ll have both rear lights blinking and no continuous brake lights. I know it’s kinda confusing but you can not wire around the signal light switch - WITHOUT adding more lights to the vehicle. It will be much more cost effective to repair the existing failure! For that to take place *hands-on* test must be applied.
Yes it’s the same bulb - BUT - there are TWO different elements inside the bulb - one is for parking (tail light) the other is for BRAKE ➕ SIGNAL lights.
The simplest route to take is replace the bulb!!
