My 1982 dodge ram prospector stalls when put in gear . How can I fix it?

Have put a new carborator, new fuel pump and filter, new plugs and wires, new starter, and new rotary cap and rotary button. Just towed it back from a garage, they put on the new carborator but could not figure out why it's doing that. It is also smoking from the exhaust.

What makes this problem better or worse?

It even does it when the engine is warm.

How long has your 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 had this problem?
