Hello, I’m Pete from the Car Genius team at RepairPal. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this concern on your 2008 Dodge Nitro. Based on the information provided it sounds like there is a starting concern when the engine is cold or after it has sat a half hour or more. If the engine cranks over but has a hard time starting when this occurs this can indicate a lack of fuel to the engine, possibly a fuel pump or other component. If the battery seems weak when this occurs this can indicate a battery or a battery cable concern or possibly even a parasitic battery drain causing the battery voltage to become low. I do recommend having this looked into/tested further to help pinpoint the cause so it can then be repaired properly.
