Hello, have your engine performance systems tested to find out what may be lacking here.
I had the same issue for years and no mechanic or the dealer itself could solve the issue as the Nitro would often just start right up. I took matter's into my own hands and fixed the issue about 5 years ago. At the time, I was a low voltage break fix (repair) guy for an ISP, so I decided I had enough and if it was an electral problem, I would find it. I ripped out the seats and carpet traced all lines and found that due to bad design, the ground cable for the fuel pump was positioned under the carpet below the second row were there is a split between seats. Due to this, any drink spills from kid between the seat crack, would fall right on the ground screw. Having your carpet washed would add even more moisture. The screw was extremely corroded and would often fail to feed ground to the fuel pump. I repositioned the ground screw to a different location and haven't had an issue or needed a mechanic for my nitro in 5 years. I see this issue too often and wish I had the time to provide the answer to all Nitro owners. If this helps you, please share the knowledge as you see fit.
