My car engine shut off while trying to shift into reverse it went into neutral and just shut off all the light on the dash were still on was able to start it back up though. Now the front end jerks while shifting into drive and reverse. Also, transmission fluid is milky red and coolant looks brown and oily? What could this be? I am a female and know NOTHING whatsoever about cars. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Those are not good scenarios. You likely have internal engine issues, and possibly a transmission issue as well. Not much else I can comment on without seeing the car. I will happily look at it for you if you want to have it towed.
