Hello, a battery light that is illuminated indicates the charging system is not working fine at all. I question your statement that the "alternator works fine" - what testing has been performed? What is your voltage and peak amperage readings at 2,000 RPM of engine speed?

I am not sure what the voltage is but when I went and got my new battery the guy at napa checked the alternator which my boyfriend had just put in and he said it was fine.
