gear shifter won't move from park position

What is your question?

car starts,stuck in park. Tried the bypass button, nothing. Checked brake lights working as you have to depress petal to move shifter. No dummy buttons or warnings. Lost here thanks for your help. The bypass plastic piece does not seem to be broken and is new replaced a couple years ago. Thank you
