Have you checked to see if the brake lights work? If they do not, the brake light switch may be faulty, or the wiring connector to the switch could be damaged as well.

chrysler has had many problems with the shifter assembly on all their models. check yours and make sure the pink release tab is moving when the brake pedal is depressed
