What is your question?
My car was running kind of rough not wanting ot get up to speed quickly. After driving 75 mph for more than 20 mins, the coolant read 185 F degrees but my engin oil only got up to 168F degrees. Is it normal to have engin oil colder than the the coolant?
What makes this problem better or worse?
As the engin gets warmer it seems to smooth out a bit but not completely.
How long has your 2019 Dodge Journey had this problem?
noticed just a couple of days

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. It's normal for engine oil to run cooler than coolant in certain situations, but low oil temperature can affect engine performance, including sluggish acceleration. Oil helps lubricate and protect the engine, so if it's too cold, it may not flow as well or reach optimal viscosity, causing rough running. Remember that the position of the temperature sensors in each system can make a big difference, so a discrepancy between the two is not necessarily indicative of a problem.
