Cam shaft sensor keeps burning out of my Dodge Journey. What could be causing this?

Describe what is happening and what you have done. Are you saying you've had a no start, found a faulty sensor during testing -- testing that includes checking the sensor itself, as well as monitoring data from it -- and that you replace it...but it fails again? This sounds highly unusual, so I'm looking for clarity of information.
