What is your question?
I have this 2014 dodge Journey RT that I’ve been battling a battery drain for the last few months now I try to use my little ole multimeter but I’m not understanding how to work it I put it on the 10 A for amps when I do online search and kind of follow what they do when I put the multimeter on at first it’ll say 3.2 and drop down to Sometimes .34 I’ve pulled fuses one at a time but now nothing seems to make it drop down . Just wondering if there’s something else I can try or do.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing really
How long has your 2014 Dodge Journey had this problem?
3 to 4 months

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Journey. It sounds like you're on the right track by using a multimeter to track down the parasitic drain. When using the 10A setting, you're measuring higher current draws, and the reading you're seeing (3.2 to 0.34 amps) is a bit high. Ideally, most vehicles should draw about 0.05 amps or less when all systems are at rest. If pulling fuses hasn't narrowed down the drain, try checking the alternator, as a faulty alternator can sometimes cause a drain. You can also test by disconnecting it and seeing if the reading drops. Another option is to check for aftermarket accessories that might be staying on when the vehicle is off.
