Check engine light came on-code said replace battery- light still on after install new battery now not shifting properly

What is your question?

After battery replaced, lock engine light still on, now shifting hard and want go past 2nd gear. Kinda has a whining noise while in park. This all just happened yesterday so quickly.

What makes this problem better or worse?

Nothing either way
