what would cause radio display/touch screen to go blank?

I am not sure what would cause it, but I have a couple of solutions you could try. This has happened to me on 2 occasions. The first time, i read somewhere that pressing the eject button on the cd player restores the radio/consul, I tried that and it worked (no cd in player either). The second time,this trcik did not work, so I researched and found this suggestion, disconnect the negative side of your battery, wait about 30 minutes and plug back in...viola it all works again. Additionally there is a software update for this radio, my clock gains time and if I don't have the radio on 0 for volumne, and even at a low 7, when you turn the car on and hit power, you are blasted by a radio past the 20 mark.
