Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. Although hands-on testing is required to know for sure, the most likely cause of your concern is a temperature blend door motor inside the dash that turns the airflow from hot to cold or cold to hot or a blend of temperatures. If this door motor does not work properly, it will often click. However, clicking can happen from a motor that works, but a door that is fractured– creating the same outcome. Either way, that's the most likely cause of the click noise and related temperature issue. I would recommend having this inspected - and get a real diagnosis. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link to find some shops near you who can help out!
