New battery and new starter on Dodge Journey. Intermittent starting issues

Thanks for responding. It took a jump right away and I drove it home. Went out to start it like 7 times and it started right up. I'm so confused

While turning key, try putting in drive. It won’t go in drive but it will start. Mine wouldn’t start at random times over years but this always worked. Don’t know why
