The engine is making a ticking sound and the check engine light is on I am getting error codes p 0300, p 0301, p 0303, p 0138. Please tell me if this is a major issue and if I should get the car into a mechanic right away,

These are misfire codes and a 1/2 shorted o2 sensor, it really needs to be corrected as soon as possible, your car could cause more damage if you continue driving it.
do you have a rough idea what the cost of that might be to fix it and what needs to be done to fix the misfire codes? thanks a million.
First of all a good tune up is a common fix for misfires, the o2 sensor is not that hard to do. I would guess without any other issues, around $200.00 - $250.00.
