i have a 1995 dodge intrepid engine will shut off while drivin down the road

Replace ignition switch , with updated part. HAD same car (3.3L pushrod engine) SAME symptom. Would jerk & drop into 2nd gear at times and go into 'limp' mode , until I shut it down & restart. Changed switch , problem solved. Apparently it had been a common problem back when they were newer.
