What is your question?
Hello my 2005 dodge grand caravan was recently broken into, my steering column was destroyed basically, my mechanic replaced the entire steering column with the column of a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country with keys & all, my van will turn on but won't stay ON, it's like is stalls out maybe not getting gas. Please any input would be greatly appreciated. It's the only vehicle I have and really need it to get my kids around. Even the mechanic is at a loss I think. Thank you!

The security system does not recognize the strange ignition key it is seeing now since the work was done - locksmith can re-key the lock cylinder to accept the original factory key. That is IF you still have the original key...?
hi Yes I do have my original key. Thank you so so much!!!

It’s a fairly simple procedure actually - I’ve got to do this to one at the shop Monday. IF you know someone who is auto repair savvy (the more experienced the better) I’m sure you can find a YouTube video showing how this is done. However I would call locksmith first for a price - it may be inexpensive and more convenient.
