One of the wires on the back of the alternator terminal is broken at the terminal. how can I fix it without spending a ton of money on a new wiring harness and garage fees? please help with any tricks I can perform at home to fix this.

Before you touch anything under the hood.... disconnect the battery negative cable and lay it aside!!!!!.... Without more useful info, can't help much!... Maybe you can use a solider-less (crimp style) wire terminal, avail at parts store in different sizes, to repair the connection... Check out YouTube for a how to video on this subject!... Got to know a car savvy person around the neighborhood!!.. Good ol southern hospitality!
