replaced the belt idler andtiensioner weeks ago to stop noise noise continued water pump pulley does not turn wellat all with nobelt onit Pulley on power steering spins freely! No signs of any major leaks oneither one! noise was squeal that sometimes quit at idle..

What makes this problem better or worse?

trying to decide if water pump is bad may putthe belt on again andgiveit tatry?

Yes the water pump pulley should spin freely .. Possibly broken water pump impeller. Also make sure there is no pieces of the belt lodge behind the pulley .. (?)
