i just go a new use tranmission put in my van monday and my husband drives it to work and which is an hour a way and going do the road it just kicks back in first gear and won't shift what could be wrong with it

Take the Van back to the shop where you had the transmission replaced. The transmission in your vehicle is quite complex as it is controlled by a computer Transmission Control Module (TCM) and many sensors and switches or solenoids. This would need a qualified technician to accurately inspect and diagnose the system.

You may need to relearn the Transmission Control Module. This needs to be done with a computer scan tool.
