Can I fix or jimmy-rig the brake light switch? If so, how?

Everything in the van works, I replaced the tail lights and all of the fuses are fine, but my brake lights do not work. I'm not looking to use a toggle switch and I don't have the money to replace the brake light switch at the moment. I need this vehicle to get back and forth to work. i just wanted to know if it is possible to fix or jimmy-rig it without having to replace it? I am new to working on vehicles, was never taught anything about it, what I do know, I taught myself. Any ideas?
