The wheel is very low, almost touching the chassis, would like to know what the problem is, when I hit a bump or pothole, a thud or bang is heard once i hit it

What makes this problem better or worse?

When i drive over bumps it seems worse

Oh boy, I wouldn't drive it right now. I think you have a broken spring, so if you HAVE to drive it, slow and low go together. Also, don't hit any bumps. If the shock was not worn out before, it is now, so expect to replace both.
