If you at all mechanically inclined, save your dealership $$$ and fix it yourself - rather simply. The likely problem (as it was in my case for my '01) is the motor/actuator that controls the HVAC blend doors has slipped out of time. The actuator is located on the left side of the HVAC assembly under your dash, up and to the right of your accelerator pedal. You will have to remove the lower dash panels to access it. Once you find, just unbolt it, flip your heater controls to 'Defrost' and manually open your defrost panel doors under the dash and the line up and reattach the blend door actuator. Reassemble dash and crank up the heat and keep your toes toasty. It is possible the actuator is actually broke and that's why it's not functioning properly. If that's the case simply order a new one and put in place of re-attaching the original in the above sequence. Good luck.
Sounds like a blend door issue. If you want us to check this out please call (313) 208-7752 or schedule an appointment on line at StansGarage.net. I am sure we can diagnose it and give you the answer you need. Larry
The usual repair consists of a new electric blend door motor, however this needs to be diagnosed to give proper pricing because several of these have had damaged blend doors as well, so tear down will be needed to give you accurate pricing.
