Po-440 code

Hello, This code signifies there is an issue in the evaporative emissions system (EVAP). The EVAP system must be pressurized unless the engine computer calls for purging the charcoal canister. If there is a leak in the gas tank, canister, or gas cap, this light will illuminate. If the fuel tank pressure sensor fails, this code can come up, and if the EVAP purge valve is stuck open, the lack of pressure will throw this code as well. You may want to have the EVAP system diagnosed to avoid throwing parts at the issue. Most often, the gas cap or purge valve fails.
