I have my engine coolant temp sensor off my vehicle an tested ohms of resistance it was 7.8 thousand at 80°, is that good or bad reading?

Hello, where is that specification from? Workshop manual? What is the symptom you are having that requires checking this sensor? Bench testing a coolant temperature sensor would not seem to be helpful - but I'd like to know more about what you're experiencing.
