Truck won't stay running, low idle. Stalled. Now it won't start. Battery fine

Is the battery getting a charge while running.(should be about 14volts when running at battery) A bad altenator will run ur battery down to nothing killing the engine and not allowing it to restart. May get a couple clicks but the battery doesnt have a chargeddfor starter to turn over the engine.
