My 1998 Durango seems to be stuck in 3rd gear. Will not go into overdrive. Will only reach top speed of 65 and struggles. Fluid and filter changed with no resolve. One band adjusted but not the other. Could 4-wheel drive still be engaged without knowing. Do I need a new transmission? Help, I love my durango!

Sensor maybe ?how many miles ours did that due to low battery it was reading the computers right as the battery was too low new battery and tranny shifts great at 265000 miles however due to overheating issue which caused the seals to break we went ahead and had a partial rebuild on our tranny as they already had it pulled apart was stupid not to we love ours too but read if you get do after market transmission cooler some have gotten close to 350k plus miles hopefully helps
