Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Unlike timing belts, chains are pains! Timing chains are pretty labor-intensive and can be pretty involved. Sometimes you may even need special tools. So doing some research ahead of time is a good idea. You're going to need a timing chain, guides, front engine sprockets (cam and crank), possibly a liquid gasket if there isn't a physical gasket and a whole lot of patience. The standard labor time is 3.2 hours so if you're not experienced with these kinds of procedures, expect it to take a bit longer. If you have any other questions feel free to call us at 877-913-1554! We'll gladly find you a certified RepairPal shop in your area!
