So I have a 1998 dodge dakota, 5.2 The issue I'm having is it cut out going down the highway, so I thought it might be the fuel pump, changed it , ran great for a day , and then did it again, parked at the job and at the end of the day , it would crank over but not start ,I have changed the pcm, and ignition, Nothing changed, went to take it to the shop after it sat for a month, put the old brain it and started right up, shop can't find the issue, it ran great for a day or two, but now it's cutting out again, when it does this the check engine light comes on , most of the time , and when it will not start I have no gages Does anyone have any ideas

What makes this problem better or worse?
