is my ignition switch bad when lights radio and accessories and everything works but the key spins freely and will not crank the truck

The truck does not make any type of clicking noise or anything like it's trying to crank but the good thing overhead lights radio horn everything work but when I try to crank the vehicle the key spins freely and will not turn the truck over could this possibly be a bad ignition switch or broken linkage pin?
