What is your question?
1994 Dakota- - Lots and lots of miles (180,000 +), but uses no oil! 318 engine, automatic transmission, 2 wheel drive, air conditioning . Runs great, uses no oil, but, the heat control will not move past midrange. I suspect an old dead mouse carcase in there someplace, but I cannot find anything regarding taking the heat system apart in my Haynes repair manual for 1987 - 1996 Dodge Dakota pick-ups. ANY suggestions? Karl

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Dakota. For a heat control that won't move past the midrange, it's possible that debris, like an old mouse nest, is obstructing the blend door mechanism inside the HVAC system. Another possibility is a damaged or jammed heater control cable. To address this, you might need to access the HVAC housing. If you suspect debris, carefully remove the glovebox to view the heater core and blend door area. Additionally, using a borescope to look down the vents may help you identify a blockage.
