My lockup converter was staying in the locked position sometimes so I bought a new converter was driving to work on it and change the converter and all forward gears are gone

Was just trying to find out if the converter will still fix the problem in your opinion did it come apart inside the rest of the way

Hello, I find it hard to understand how a torque converter problem would affect you having forward gears all of the sudden. If it was staying in the locked position you wouldn't be able to drive from a stop. So all of this sounds really difficult to understand to be honest.
