It just starts puttering out of nowhere I'm going down the highway doesn't seem like it does it until you get up to like 60 miles an hour or so
What makes this problem better or worse?
It only happens after about 40 miles on the highway

Hello, stalling in this condition is going to be due to a loss of fuel delivery or a loss of ignition spark. Yes, air to the intake matters as it's all about air and fuel mixtures, but for the most part I think you're looking at spark and fuel. Determining which is lost and what needs to be done to fix it is another step - diagnostic testing is needed.
