What is your question?
I have a 1993 dodge dakota and the fuel gauge is not operational, I was told by someone who owned the same model that the problem is with the fuel pump which is located in the gas tank. Is this true?

It could be the Fuel Sending unit in the fuel tank that is part of the fuel pump assembly. But, check the sending unit before your remove the tank. Use the schematic in this info to help you. Here is a link to the repair info for your Dodge, that should help. http://bit.ly/mitchell_repair_manuals_online
Absolutely! I had to have my fuel pump replaced about two years ago and it cost me $800.00 bucks!!! Why? Because the fuel pump and fuel level sensor are all one unit located in the fuel tank. Part was about $300.00 and labor was about $500.00.
Check your fuses first. But if thats not the problem then sending unit is inside the tank.Might just need the connector taken off and cleaned.
