Difficulty getting a lasting seal between the timing chain cover & the block.
What is your question?
I have no problem getting an initial seal but only lasts 1 1/2 to 2 years.
Doesn't seem to matter if I use just a paper gasket or gasket and sealant? I am assuming the issue is the aluminum cover & cast iron block expanding and contracting at different rates?
Is there a good sealant out there for this application?
I have been using Permetex silicone sealants with no success.
