Don't want/ like metal pedal covers installed on dodge chargers. Removable?

I am currently browsing Dodge Chargers new/used that don't have the (factory) metal pedal covers installed. Once installed can the pedal covers be removed? And return to rubber pedals. Regarding any hassle and or cost? I selected the model year so my question would go through. I am not looking for a perticular model year. Please advise. Thank you.
