When I try to accelerate, the car seems to jerk forward. Some times it's a slight jerk but other times it feels harsher. I was wondering what the problem could be.

Is there a noise that follows or hits at the same time? Does it happen when you first accelerate or in the middle of accelerating? It could potentially be the transmission but it could also be any number of suspension parts or engine/trans mounts. The best way to get a legitimate answer is to have it test driven by a mechanic though.
