My 2007 Dodge charger is stuck in 1St or 2nd gear what would cause that??

The car sat for about a month straight and before that it drove like a dream! I got out of jail and my stepson had it towed I went to get my car from them and it hasnt been right sense then! They didn't have the key it was in my pocket book at the jail thank God they we're trying to take it and get a key made! Please help me with this problem

Low transmission fluid, or poor transmission... if not then could be faulty solenoid or a wiring problem.... ik this happened with mine as well bc mine sat up for so long and rats got to the wires... and as soon as I fixed my coil pack wires and reset the pcm module it would finally shift out of 1st and 2nd into 3rd and 4th with no problem
