What is your question?
I have a 2002 Dodge Caravan Sport, at times over the last year or so it will not start on my first attempt of turning the key, it just clicks, not a continuous click just one click. If I continue to turn the key repeated time it will eventually start, at times will attempt to start but drags, and then after several attempts it starts just fine. I replaced the battery and the problem continues. It happens in all weather conditions. This problem as come and gone, it will go weeks without occurring and then does it again every day for a week.

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Caravan. The issue you're describing sounds like it could be related to the starter, the ignition switch, or a weak connection in the starting system. A single click often points to a faulty starter motor or solenoid. Since the battery is new, you'll want to check its terminals and cables to ensure they're clean and secure. It's also worth testing the starter relay and inspecting for corrosion or loose connections at the starter itself. Intermittent problems like this can sometimes be tricky, so thorough diagnostics might be needed. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
