What is your question?
We have been in an extreme heat warning the last few days in the 110 and above, I think my AC is working too hard and may have burned out. But what exactly would burn?
What makes this problem better or worse?
it just happened, now it doesn't turn on
How long has your 2010 Dodge Caliber had this problem?
today

Do you have a sense of where the "smoke" was originating from? I'd be concerned about a drive belt that maybe has broken or maybe has excessive wear due to an accessory drive component that is failing. This could be reflective of an air conditioning compressor concern under the hood - but there's no way to know until you perform some hands on testing.
