I took it in to a shop because there is a noise under the hood. Check engine light is on, and they checked engine. Told me i need transmission.
How long has your 2009 Dodge Caliber had this problem?

RepairPal can't get you an estimate on a transmission -- but we can put you in touch via that search with shops that can quote you pricing "real world" for what you may need. Used and remanufactured transmissions of different qualities will be available -- so definitely get multiple quotes if you decide you indeed need to replace the transmission. When getting pricing always consider what warranty you will get with what you buy. Used is cheaper but more risky and has a smaller warranty, if any. Remanufactured is much more costly usually, but is likely more reliable and has a longer warranty typically. Good luck!
