Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Shaking? Jumping? Acting up? This Dodge isn't up to Caliber! Based on your description, these symptoms suggest internal transmission problems—bad news. You may be able to find someone who rebuilds CVT transmissions in your area; that would be one option. Other options include replacing it with a new or salvage unit. I suggest you get a maintenance check performed on the Caliber. That way, you'll get an overall idea of the car's health. Having a shop check the steering, suspension, brakes, state, tune, and condition of the motor will help you determine if replacing the CVT would be worth it. If the car needs additional work equal to or exceeding the CVT repair/replacement, it might be time to shake and jump your way to a better ride!
