My van at times wont stop running after I remove the key. only happens so often

I'm half asleep but the thing that comes to mind is the powertrain continues to be supplied with battery voltage. The thing for Dodge is the ASD relay. Possible bad or sticking contacts. The Auto Shutdown Relay supplies battery voltage to most of the engine operating circuits. Just a consideration or comment.
