Oil change frequency

What is your question?

The manual says to change the oil every 6,000 miles, but the light just came on again, and I'm barely at 3,000 miles, about 60% being highway miles. I use full synthetic oil, and I'm wondering if I should reset the light an extra time in-between changing the oil? It's a 2008, and has 39,000 miles on it.
