Lost the locking lug nut key. How can I get the locking nuts off to replace them with standard nuts? Use a nut buster? Can they be even be replaced with standard nuts?

Yes, they can be replaced with OEM (stock) lug nuts. Many Locking Lugnuts have a case hardened surface. It is best to purchase or rent a special tool designed to remove these Locking Lug nuts. They are available from all major Tool companies, ie: Snap on, Mac, Matco, Lisle and many others. Auto Parts stores such as Kragens, Auto Zone etc, may carry these tools either for purchase or rental. The other option is to chisel these off by hand or pneumatic hammer, however extreme care must be taken to prevent damage to the wheel. If you choose the latter, remember that to loosen them, go ina counter clockwise direction.
