does leaving the rear hatch door open drain down the battery?

the battery was installed june 2014 @ 110,000 mis. battery check aok with the tech in charge who told me leaving the gate and doors open will drain the battery ??????? thanks for the responce Bill

I suppose its possible but it depends on how many lights, amp hrs of battery and bulb wattage!!!.. Check to see if van has an override for dome. Some vehicles will turn off the dome lights and other accessories after a predetermined amount of time via the BCM...unless the key is in accessory position or the dome lights are turned on manually..
