99 Chrysler town and country came with two different radiators for same make and model van. one had outlet on passenger side one on the drivers side WHY?

Outlet is for bottom hose .. That's the one connected to the water pump .. Since the water pump for ALL engines is on the passenger side .. I have no idea why there is an application showing otherwise. Furthermore - I'm not aware of any that have the inlet (top hose) on the drivers side .. Both are on passenger side > ALL engines. In any event - IF you need a replacement radiator - purchase whichever one that will fit your vehicle.
Could have been for different engine options. It could be for cars shipped outside of the US or some feature that was not on all vehicles that may have been located near one of the outlets. Your vin should get you the right one. Alex
Hello, When manufacturers have their vehicles built, there are always differences between plants. That's why there are some engines that produce more or less power in the same model car. The differences get larger when the parts are sourced from multiple suppliers, and in the case of Chrysler, they source parts from the US, Asia, Africa, and Europe. If it was more economical to manufacture a set of engines somewhere else, then ship them here, the specifications may change due to pricing. Good examples are the Ford Cologne engine, which has completely different cylinder heads between factories, or two factory variations of a starter for the Nisan Frontier, which have different methods of installation.
the answer is in the lower hose. drivers side is hd radiator passenger side is std . chrysler never could make a good car. went to junk yard there are hundreds of chrysler late model mini vans all with rotted out bodies, strut towers, filler necks brake lines, etc etc. I go to the import section and find only THREE toyota siennas all with rust free bodies only body damage. end of story
I have to agree with you! I still can't find a replacement radiator like you're looking for. Makes nary bit of sense to put the outlet on the OPPOSITE side of the water pump - regardless of *where* it's manufactured at! .. I am very familiar with that vehicle btw - I have personally repaired quite a few of them. Good luck with it!
