as with all ac repairs, you need to have the proper equipment to recover the refrigerant; recycle it and then recharge the system after the repairs are finished. federal law prohibits releasing refrigerants into the atmosphere. for this reason, ac repairs are not advised for the do-it- yourselfer.

there is no repairing it. replacement is the answer, if it is the failure. the dryer must also be replaced. Roy
