I just replaced the thermostat and the car is still running hot but my car is not smoking or nothing

What makes this problem better or worse?

Soon I start it it goes hot

To bleed system without a vacuum bleeding tool, let car run with cap off, heater set on hot til cooling fans cycle and you have heat coming out heater vents. Keep topping off coolant as needed. then put cap on and drive car keep an eye on temp gauge if you have one.
